cave with ancient taurus

In LF 1 I was unable to kill all the ancient taurus/bull type things in the quest given at the tower. It's the cave where the fire mage is and the path down is blocked by a big box. Is there a way to access that lower area in LF II? I remember being able to complete this cave after leaving LF I, but can't remember how I got there.

Talk to Marandohra the Naga, at the bottom of the Tower of Weapons; just keep jumping down till you reach her.

If you can’t jump down all the way to her, there was an obscure bug that could cause you to lose your progress with the Weapons Tower Guild. You may need to recomplete Pull out Sword (Q97), and/or Talk to Fire Mage (Q98) to be able to reach her again.
