Has anyone actually saved enough money to buy the manor? I get about 130000 saved and then I can't seem to save anymore.

You can always do quests, fight monsters, sell useless stuff.

Actually, it's not obligated to buy a manor.

I know it's not obligatory, but I so want to do it  . If for no other reason that I've never managed it before. Always trying to improve in play and life, doncha know. :)

I don't know what affect they will have on the 3rd installment but there are people you can invite to the manor in the second installment. If you don't have the house, you may miss these people and the possible help they give you later on.

My thoughts. Not necessarily the way it will be though.

Actually, I never bought a house because it's really and really expensive, and I never had enough money.

Yeah, the most preferable outcome would be to buy the house while you're still in LF1; if you can somehow come up with the money. Or as early as you can in LF2 at least. There are ~3-4 people in this game that you can invite to your manor, but you need to own the manor to invite them.

There's no immediate reward for inviting them, but you can safely assume that they will do something in LF3. I seem to recall one of the people you can invite even mentioned a reward of some kind, but that it will "take time". As in, "I'll give you something cool in LF3 for giving me a place to stay". Or at least that's my assumption.

OK, bought the manor and I have different people living there. But there's no furniture and there is a crate blocking the way to the lower level. But at least I have the bloody thing and can wait until LFIII to see what develops. And I can't wait to see what Mina will come up with!

There is a key in your inventory. If you click on it, it takes you to the house. It costs money to go though.

Well, one of the advantages of buying the house is that the Art Guild master will pay you $$$ to display his art work in it at some point in LFII. Also, you should buy it before going to Snake Rock as there are characters there who will go to your "safe house" if you have it. I never had enough $$$ to buy it. Once Luci, the widow, is part of your party, you can purchase the house for 90,000G, but that is way after several characters would move in. I'll do it next time, I swear, if it takes killing a 1,000,000 anacondas to do it. hahahaha... I'm dying to have the characters go to the mansion. +::lol
+::lol I guess I should say I could have the Gs, but I keep having to buy the stuff from Baretta which is so expensive most of the time. I guess, like in life, it's a trade off.

You can get the money easily enough in LF1 when doing the Trial of Heroes. There's that dragon (heavenly dragon?) that keeps regenerating and gives loads of exp and money. Then when you finish the Trial you can get the mansion and you're all set up for LF2.
