Query about boosts

I'm in Nef trying to kill that the robots that come out of the computer. I have managed to get through to the final four and I can't kill them.
I use the boosts like Sarah's Saint. They all flash up and the fight is on but when I go to the next round in the same fight all the status returns to Easy and I have to use it again. A
Am I doing this right?
Another thing. I've got Luci, Sarah, Wendi and Random all armed as far as possible with burn protection equipment.
Any ideas what else I can do and how I can kill those darn robos. I've managed to get the airport defender alone on two occasions but I just get blown away again.
Hope somone out there has got an answer for me.
I'm frustrated. It doesn't appear necessary to complete this part to complete the quest, so another few tries and then I'll be moving on.
