Quest 02 problem (maybe bug?)

Im in throne of castle malicia.
I touch the throne the first time, before put the orb and no have any conversation between marine and merline, i dont get the pox
I try with merline in party and without her
What is the problem?
In this video appear this convesation but in my game no. Is the last quest for the last achievement.

It's been years since I last played Millennium 3, but as far as I know, Merline is inflicted with Pox by walking around on that screen, not by just interacting with the throne. The person from the video interacting with the throne and getting the Pox was a coincidence.
