I feel your pain! I had the same. See instructions below....they are not specific but should get you on the way.

From the entrance of desert, go left, walking as far on the bottom screen without losing sight of the wall at the top of your screen, a little ways past the largish clump of palmtrees. Then when there is a path down to a lower level, with 3 skeletons, just keep walking straight down and you bump right into it

Ok, here is the major spoiler......

From start of room (opposite dude that brings you to desert) take the following steps:
2 steps Down
2 steps Right
20 steps Down
50 steps Left
Then go down until you see a hole in a rockface
