Problem rescuing Random.....

I'm in the underwater, Random is in the pit, went to the lamia in the cell, currently searching for the renegade lamia. In the walkthrough it tells you exactly where to go....and the only set of stairs in this place leads to a deserted island. If I remember correctly, while exploring with Random, I came upon a renegade medusa or something like that....she had like 3 squids with her...and I killed them all with no drop...am I doomed now?

I'm sorry to say I think you are; that's why the walkthrough tells you to ignore the screen to the right for the moment. You'll have to go back to an earlier save before you killed her.

Littlebro....sadly I have no previous saves, I use the same save file because I get confused too easy using all kinds of different save files.

Indy...if I'm not condemned....then I definitely AM confused now.

Just getting a bit worried cause my party SUCKS and I'm running out of healer stuff....guess I'll have to go back to Kondler and stock up.

Me thinks Random needs to get his own arse out of the pit.

*edit* This game is frustrating.....I've went to that same island 5 times now....and JUST when I start doing screenshots to copy and paste to show you where I'm going in case I'm going to the wrong place....the stoopid lamia shows up.... lol

I'm so glad that the lamia put in an appearance and you can sail on.
On the business of save files, as LFIII has so many slots, you could try using a new one each time you go to a new place; that way you never have to start all over again, but don't have so many that you never know where you are. It helps that the game always opens at the last one you saved.

there is a method to this madness mind you....This is my first run through of the game where I focus more on the story line than I do the goodies. Basically I'll do most of what there is to do according to the walkthrough (if there is one) and if something takes too long, I'll skip it so I can progress the story.....for instance I totally missed a lot of goodies during this chapter, I think the only thing I did thoroughly was the underwater section.

My second run through is where I start doing all my searching and side quests.
