I am currently playing this free game.

It is hard in terms of battling and there are numerous characters that you can recruit with a few quests.

It may not be for everyone so give it a try because it is free.

EDIT: this game has a major bug after fighting Colossus boss and you get the balloon. You get stuck on the tower with the balloon and cannot move. Hopefully it will be fixed.

It's a guy called shortstar. He's made several part games, though I think only a couple of completed ones. Don't know if he's still actively working on the sequel to Epiquest, but I know he at least began it.

I wish, but I've never even attempted. I know because I got this game from the rpgmaker.net site, and if you click on the developer's name, you can see what else they've done.
