it says in your menu screen

because "almost" the same gear is not THE SAME gear.'

the umenghalla doubles Xp and VE EXP
for example.

and the numbers build dramatically beyond 200%

I missed that on the Umengala. At any rate, I did finally dispatch Karn. He took it well. He was actually quite a gentleman, well, before the battle and after the battle, but definitely NOT during the battle! LOL. I liked the ending. All in all, I had a great time with this game. You do have to do quite a bit of grinding to be successful, but I've never minded grinding. There were so many special weapons, armors and accessories that it was sometimes hard to choose. Hmmm... should I give up a bit of M.Defense in order to get a much greater Attack, or should I use the shield better status resistance but not as much physical resistance? I did like the ability to wield 2 weapons. I kept Violet equipped with the Lightbringer throughout the game, maybe another would have been better? But she always held her own so I didn't see any reason to change that. I did give her Shining Light shield to Gentry as soon as she acquired Starlight Savior. I never used any of the Angel weapons/gear. I wonder if that might have made a difference with Karn? In the end, I just grinded. When I was left with nothing else to add VE pts to except for the base stats, I took your advice and went heavy on increasing MHP, with each player having 2300-2500 HP. Then it was just Violet spamming Ultima-Dominion-Onslaught, Gentry spamming Radiance or Purify after Karn's status-applying skill that I can't remember the name of, and Lot and Hanzo whack-a-moling away with multiple hits. I'd definitely recommend this game.

You know, I saw it but didn't think I could get to it so I figured it was just a decoration and then I forgot all about it. Hmmm... Maybe I'll try that battle again and see if I can dispatch Karn in a few less turns.
