RPG Maker VX Ace

I haven't been far enough in the development of a game on Ace to know if I prefer it to XP.
I love XP though.

And compared to VX, why do you like it better?

I like the visuals better and I worked on it so much that I became very used to it.

@Cassi: Your question was for D_Squall, but I'll take a stab at it.

And my answer is no, I will still not prefer VX because it has too many limitations. Restricted Map-=sheets, blocky maps and characters and the small window size.
I know someone released a script to fix some of these, but it's just too much trouble.

I think many would have preferred if Enterbrain upgraded XP instead of VX... but oh well...

By the way Indy, do you plan to sell RPGMaker VX, XP and VX Ace here on Aldorlea like other companies?

I am interested in Ace and I'll probably add the other 2 as well. I just need them to add it on Plimus.

There's only one reason i dont like rpgmakervx and rpgmakervx ace about pressing shift together with mouse or specific arrows to dash it and i would prefer xp despite of walking normal.

Folks, you can get it now!
And if you make a game, I can help you release it on Aldorlea. :)

I've downloaded it from here, tried to activate the trial version, but it keeps telling me it has expired. :(

I've downloaded it yesterday.
It's kinda strange cause you need to activate even the trial version online.
Okay, since you don't have a suggestion I'll see if I can get in touch with someone on their site.

Just in case anybody else encounters this problem: They seem to be having major problems with activation in general, but if you cannot activate the trial version because it says it has expired, you can go here to receive help:

But I think it's still RPGMaker VX. Dwarf like characters and such. I prefer games made with RPGXP though, still I don't hate RPGVX. Any chance of they release a new version of the RPGXP?

Ahem. If you take out the repeated column in the RPGXP sprites and put a !$ at the beginning of the sprite's file name, they should work in VX/VX Ace just fine. :)

I've been tempted to do it, but I'm fine with the dwarf-like sprites as well.

I have played a couple of games developed with VX Ace but I still prefer the look and feel of XP.

One thing I do not like about VX and VX Ace is that when you are in the game it still has that black border around the game.

I like the total full screen look without the black borders which XP has.

XP IMO is still the better game engine.
