To expand on that, you can find them by the Pit Marketplace, but only in Chapters 1 - 4, 6 - 7. If in Chapter 5 you will want to complete the Chapter first.

Volume 1 is in South Elmwood Forest, and Volume 4 is on the highest floor of the Tower of Storms.

Save games should be in the same directory as where you installed the game. They are called Save01, Save02, etc. Save01 is the autosave file.

I'm in the Stardews and cannot escape a battle with an Inspiring eagle. I've tried everything I can think of but I keep losing. My characters are at about 40, most of them. How do I deal with this thing? If I can't figure it out, I have to quit. (There's no "escape" option, right?)

There is an escape option. Hit cancel on the first persons turn and it will bring up a menu that will say Fight, Escape and Party. Use that to run.

The monster will still be there but stunned for a few seconds, use that to juke around it or retreat elsewhere if needed.

If that doesn't work let me know, I'll have you send me your save.

Am in Level 5 of the training caves (no trouble with the first 4 levels) and cannot make a dent in the "know-it-all." Is there a strategy that works?

Its weak to Energy Magic, so having Josie and Elliot hit it with Energy spells is probably the best bet. Also I'd have only one person cast magic on it in case it uses Ultra Absorb that turn, having Jarvis pound it with physical skills or Padrin blast it with arrows is probably your best option for other attackers.

I'm in Chapter 9 and would like to go to the crossroads & etc. to look for ultimate weapons. How do I do this? Or is it too late?

Everywhere can still be accessed except for the hospital in KC, though some require very roundabout methods. Most you will find a warp to via the Mana Stream that will get you to there. And for some you will eventually get a sailboat at the same time you get access to Clearwind and can use that to get to the rest.

As for the Crossroads, if you mean the game area you now have to access it from Winterglen. The outside area of the inn though at the Crossroads as well as the camping area and slime caves can still be accessed though.
