I hope the chopper is beatable. I have a grave with his name on it. He is going down(of course I need to level up to like 50)with promotions and visiting the "Guild of Ancients"

What 3000G for building up resistance,speed, mind and strength each in the Guild of Ancients.
I have no money. Is there a bank nearby in the game for a loan. Oh no! more locked doors in the Guild of Ancients.

I was able to beat him in Hard Mode.

He's easy, I used Benoit's Slash Hand to decrease his strength, and kept using until he dies, while I defended and healed with the other characters as they couldn't deal much damage on him. And of course, Jeanne with Fairy Love to heal the entire party twice.

There's a loooooooooooooooot of money you can find! At some place I found about 24000G iirc. But don't ask me why, I forgot it, LOL!

Fairy love????? Does she get that when Marine levels up? Or do I have to use her more often?

You get the Fairy Love in MM1 as a reward for buying all items at the correct time from the Forge.
So if you didn't have it then, it's long gone now.

[spoiler]You probably need to have mom in your group; and by the way if you go to the place in the temple where you used the flame of air with mom in your party she will show you something cool!!!
