a question of quests, parties, and EXP

so far, this is a great game, but i have three questions,
first: quests, ive gotten two quests i cant complete (beast attacking village (too strong) and finding a mushroom (cant find it) among others i cant currently complete) is there a time limit on side quests, (get far along in the story quest become unavailable)
second: i found clea, but dont know how to get her to join me



final and most important question: how is XP handled with inactive party questions... (inactive get no XP... 25%... 100%)

some are like this. i can't help it, i find it boring if all comes easy. my recommendation: go through the game the first time without trying to achieve the perfect file. the game has so much replayability you can't save (literally lol) this for later.

"party" in the left menu. wasn't there a tutorial book about this? maybe i should make it a bit more obvious

they get a certain amount depending on the difficulty of the fight.

depend on the quest - this particular one allows you to kill the beast anytime iirc
