Question about Melusine and schools!

I didn't wanted Melusine, I had choosen Jasmine instead (who doesn't love her? XD). Melusine was needed to be in the party to recruit members from the schools?

Oh okay, at least I know now that in the next gameplay Melusine will be the best option.
