My personal guess is that with each demon we kill he will get sicker because he's somehow a demon too and is killing his family now, which weakens him.

you know, thats exactly what i thought... all the animals keep saying jordan has a wierd energy... i dont think hes a full demon like the ones we have to beat, but he has to have some sort of demon blood in him.

Yes; I assumed (rightly I think from what you say about him being 'absent') that it wouldn't be a good idea for him to fight this demon because he had an enormous ego of his own and so would be weak to that.
