I am in the house of wonders at the flame...I have tried this 2 ways....one talking to the flame first and it goes away...and using the bromium solution before talking to the flame and it says to find the blue flame first....either way I can't go to G by stepping on the middle tile to the left it does nothing...what do I do??? I have back tracked and ca't find anything I have missed....

Not sure why you have a problem. I've looked at my notes and my precise order of events is this
Go up to the next screen. In the chest is a wonderful accessory, Mr Trickster, though not everyone can equip it. Click on the flame – it’s just a normal one. They use Clea’s potion which turns red; the demon still isn’t visible, you have to find it. Click on the middle tile on the left side to reveal a path. Heal up and save before crossing it.
This is my second play through and it has worked like this each time. It certainly won't work if you use the potion first.

From the entrance (map 1) down the stairs at the top to map 2. Work your way round to the next stairs and up to map 3, and there you are.

my mistake. I already did that and killed the flame. I thought there was a second flame somewhere else. How do you open the gate on the second floor on the top right?

I don't quite understand what you mean by you "killed the flame". It is a demon you kill there called Dharma. Using the potion on the flame reveals the path through to him.
You open the locked door with a key you get from Dharma.
