I cannot beat this demon....I have my characters at lvl 25 or over. What characters do I need to be using? I have Clea.. Randolf and Mesaline hve Captain's Swords..Jordan is absent at some point..Plase help..

With the demons in this game, you need to pay close attention to what sort of demon they are, because some characters will be weak against them, depending on their character/personality.
For the fight against this particular demon, do not include members with big egos (ie Melusine, Ana, Anton, Benito and Jordan - they will be 'absent' (as you have discovered with Jordan) which is basically paralyzed except it cannot be cured (so is worse).
Who you should have in the party is Clea as you'll most likely need her Nullify spell if the demon boosts himself! Make sure she is fast so she can cast Nullify before the demon attacks in the next round.

Malevodon has a lot of HPs but low physical and magical defense. He's most sensitive to burning, evil and divine spells.
Lorette's Arabesque Infernal works very well. He can also be numbed with a good success rate.

Good members against him are: Yu, Randolf, Clea, Lorette.

Don't put Jordan in the party against Malevodon as he will be absent, put Clea in the party in order to use Nullify his boost status that he casts now and then. Always keep you health high because he attacks all the party at once and sometimes even cancel your turn. If that doesn't work, then try training a little to gain some levels.

Is this supposed to be the last place to go? I took a boat and it said go to Zander and defeat the demon. I cannot defeat it as it is just round after round and the woman annihilates the 3 girls in my party no matter what I do. So, I am basically stuck with no where to go an a battle that cannot be won. What am I missing here? Thanks.

You probably need to rearrange your party and use characters that won't get "paralyzed" during the fight.

No, I am against several rounds of switching back and forth between Jordan and 3 girls at Hotel of Ascension.

I'm a bit lost. Which series of fights is this for?

If you only have 4 charas, then it seems you missed quite a few. At that point you can have 8 animals already, including a tiger that is very strong.
As for human characters - apart from those you get anyway there are 3 optional characters that you might have missed: Teksab, who could be found at Fort Zenna in a basket, Yu, who was at the House of Fear but would only join after killing the demon (before that he wouldn't talk to you), and Barbara, who is in Zander in a secret forest on the world map (she also brings the tiger).
If you've missed those you might want to replay from a point before going to Zander and get Yu and Teksab first. Also, it takes some time, but it might be good to grind a bit to get be able to buy a Captain's Sword. Barbara will have one when you find her, but having two in Zander is a tremendous help as this is one of the best weapons for a long time in the game.

I added two girl characters (total of 4 characters) and then it said to get on a boat and go to Zander. There wasn't anywhere else for me to go.
