I just exited the Turtle Caves and right after all the animals get on the balloon i get an error message that says: DEA file not found can somebody please help +::sos

Good job getting the balloon, and my apologies for this glitch.
The fix is already available, just download and install this version:

Here's a good one...have the zeplin...fly and land and exit. party goes zipping like a bullet around the screen +::lol

only way to get speed back to normal is to fight or use menu key. is this intentional or not? +::biggrin

edit: just went home to check for a pot and came across the door to ????? anyway...symbol "virtur of souls" there and it doesn't show up in item screen +::cry
