The bear joined me, but disappeared shortly after. Also, I do not have to fight some battles to get the XP...they fly by and disappear. Are these things supposed to happen?

The bear is not a permanent member but a "wild animal" recruited by Nestor's skill Yelp.
He goes away if he is killed in a fight, and doesn't level up as well.
Permanent characters are the cat, the dog, the rooster etc. (more will join as you progress)

Thank you for answering so quickly. I believe I figured out the 2nd part of my question....it must be the red artifact flying in and killing the little monsters. :)

How does one access the options menu in M3? F1 doesn't work and there is no "Options" in the start menu.

Now first question. WHY no Rush button??? Sure could use one. :)

And then Why no information on levels and what they should be for certain areas and Monsters?
And for Bosses?? I mean in Casual??? At what level does each Character receive each of their skills? And what equipment can each member use, if any. Where and when and how does each member get equipment if they do?

3000 in Gold?? It would take forever to get that much. I've not found any teasure chests along the way so far. :)
Plus there are things the Guide says to buy beside this amount. Katie is Level 27. a long way to go to 99. Like the game, just would like more information. Or am I alone in that?

This is a somewhat belated response to a post on page 26, about fighting the Aluminum titan. I just got Sylia Act I from Big Fish games, which I'm thoroughly enjoying.
Anyway, for Aluminum, I used four named characters in my active party: cat, dog, sheep, and wolf. All of them were leveled in the 50's. The Anima Snake was equipped, which proved very useful as it paralyzed the foe several times. I also made liberal use of blackberries and lemons, so be sure to stock up before you face the titan. There's no point using food to restore your full hit points, since a single blow from the enemy will knock out your character regardless. Just stay alive and keep hitting. It's a tough battle, and you don't even get gold, but you do get lots of experience.
Edited to add: I'm playing in Casual Mode.

Absolutely. :)
I suppose we fishies (Big Fish Games members) will have to wait a while for Act 2, huh? Well, that's okay, because I just bought Dreamscape, so that will keep me busy while I'm waiting.
