Millennium 5 - Tentative Release Date: Dec. 2012

I never promised anything, that's the whole point.
Any date I give is just an opinion, a hope. We are discussing, not being official. I know oh-too-well that release dates can be tricky especially for bigger games and one-man-companies.
Would you rather have me cut down on quality, shorten the game, release it rushed and full of bugs?

I don't think anyone has the right to judge what's "good enough". We all here know that Indy is putting a lot of effort into his games.
He has often stated that he's not setting release dates before he's sure he can keep them. But people keep asking for guesses and of course he has to say something so as not to ignore or disappoint the people who ask. But that's not the same as "promising" something. Imho we should just let him do his work without putting pressure on him all the time.

The thing is, I can totally understand the impatience. It is flattering, in a way.
But you can't have the best of both worlds. If you want a game where the dev has attempted to clean all the bugs and polished every aspect, it may take time. Throw in that real life is not always as peaceful as the surface of a quiet lake... Then you realize we can just give possibilities of release dates. As in, part of a conversation with the dev, nothing else.

Hmm you misunderstood me. I totally second your post. I can just understand people getting impatient about something they really want, and this in a way is flattering. But as the developer I do ask you guys to realize how long it can take to make, polish and debug a game.

I'm impatient too.
I just think - as we say here - the tone makes the music. One doesn't have to be rude to show his impatience.

I'm also imapatient, that is why I check Aldorlea every day to see if there are news. But all we can do is wait.

I can try to post more screenshots and teasers, too. But this activity takes time as well (selecting the right screenshot, for instance, is not completely straight-forward).

Nah, I would love to see more teasers but that wouldn't be good if it get in the middle of your job. And we all want the game here as fast as possible right? And bug-free.

This is difficult and requires time and focus indeed.
I hear more and more complaints about some games being rushed or poorly beta-tested, as I said, you can't have the best of two worlds.
