very disappointed with ending

i have just completed the game with all players on lvl 99 but after those last 13 rounds of battle i won on about the 3rd fight of round 10 which activated the ending that they conned marina not to rule but then it just goes to end screen saying must try harder (how much harder can u go when u win???)

Actually, there are more endings. You got a "bad ending".
To get the good and REAL ending:
You must win between 76-85 battles in the showdown, and then, let them win on purpose.

ahh ok I have a save at the beginning of the arena but it does get a bit tedious after a while for me

Just wamt to point out that you need 80-84 wins to get the "real" ending. I blew it the first time so this I remember.

Really? I just mentioned what someone said anywhere. Now that you mentioned, I won with 83 fights.

Grrrrrrrr i won again but it still says must try harder after 1 of them breaks the cup.BTW this time i got to 84 wins half way through round 12 it wont let me fight anymore so what do i do. I made a mistake on my 1st post it was on round 13 first time i won this time i did it quicker

Really? That is strange, cause you can't win 85... so if you won 84 and after that you let them reach 85... you're supposed to get the real ending.

as soon as i won my 85th (which is over half of 169(13x13))it goes to cut scene

D-Squall do u mean i have to lose the battle 84-85? if that is so i dont understand because the aim is to beat them

You can't have more than 84 wins... or you get the destroyed cup ending.

To have the good ending, you can't win more than 84 or less than 76 (according to the post that I've read). After you got some number of wins between these two numbers, you have to lose... i.e. let them win 85.

aha i did that and now see the REAL ending thanks guys but its still strange when i won so many fights lol.to indy ... thanks for another great game

When you reach 82 points start losing all games except Bear's then you will get the true ending
