Yep. Luci is classy and brilliant. And Wendi's got guts and very clever. Sarah is nice to people she likes. But she can be really nasty at times. But that is not why I can't stand her. I hold very high regards for the elves in general --- think, think Lord of the Ring. She is so silly, dumb, shallow, and slutty.

SHE IS DESTROYING THE IMAGE OF THE ELVES!!!

That's a little exaggerated, don't you think?

Haha! Probably. Just can't suffer silly airheads. +::fear While other characters matured with time (just compare Random in 3 stars and LF3 or even LF2), she never seemed to grow out of 15. Ah, well.
Talking about dumb. What's with her being abducted all the time anyway? Isn't she supposed to be the oh-so-powerful Sun angel or goddess whatever blessed with the power to protect her people? (Well...I actually am not really sure what her duty toward her people was, since I never finished LF1. Just guessing) So odd that it is almost comical.

Ah....
Apologize to our brilliant players under 15 here. Age is not the issue. It is never growing up.

From the game design point-of-view, MM is clearly superior. Better music and artworks and incredibly well done mapping. There are many moments which are just pure fun - especially the jumping and collecting orbs. Plus I've always wondered Marine's energy and passion, some scenes are very strong and touching.

Overall, MM is easilly accessible and very enjoyable. On the contrary, Laxius has always been "more pain, more gain".
If you play it casually, then you will probably like MM better. But if you invest the time and effort, LF offers a deeper experience. The story is much more thrilling and epic, and most of the characters have really "grown on me" and become part of my imagination. And because of this, I will always love Laxius more.
You just can't beat a game with characters like Random or Luciana, you know... +::YAY

So true. Tomas. So true!
Both are great games. I guess it just depends on if you are in the mood for some fun or feeling down right hardcore today.

Interesting takes on the subject.
IMO MM is a more personal quest in a much smaller scale, while LF is the epic quest opposing 2 huge forces (typically good vs bad).
They don't really cater to the same audience per se.

A lot of people have voiced their opinion already.
Now Indy, which series do you prefer? It seems you favour MM.

Can you refine your question?
Which series I prefer in terms of plot? characters? humor? gameplay? something else?

Now MM has found its conclusion, players of both series can finally compare them. Which one is the winner, and why? Tell us everything! :)

easier breaking it down then

plot?

i guess LF cuz of chap. 7, 11 and 13 (iirc)
i like the emotional, never-give-up kind of plot MM has though. it's like a diesel, it gets better and better from game 3 on. both have their moments IMO

characters?

LF has the best ones.

humor?

LF, cuz the charas (some of them at least) are completely crazy.

gameplay?

LF easily

something else?

MM is more polished and looks more professional. It's less of a "mess" than LF, easier to control both as a player and a dev. MM was designed with Big Fish in mind, so this explains that. I wanted a casual RPG adventure to balance out my catalog a bit since the LF saga (including 3S) was very hardcore.

That's all very true!
I think that LF is something very special and gameplay-wise it will always be outstanding. And imo the characters have the most depth of all your games.
But when it comes to visuals MM can hardly be beaten. The graphics and maps are so gorgeous, LF couldn't keep up with that.

So both series have their own strenghts and both are great.

Yes MM destroys LF in anything related to production values.
