I finished the game but didn't have enough money to get the best ending. I bought armor and didn't sell quite a bit of my items. I didn't know that I needed to save my money for the end.

I don't know what the cut-off point is underneath that; my suspicion is that it is around that amount, simply because it's a nice round figure.

I bought no armour at all. The best gear is to be found in chests and secret rooms; much better than anything you can buy. If (though I suggest it should be "when") you replay, try and get all the secret rooms if you missed any this time.

I also sold everything except a couple of accessories, just in case, and found that the Pest Charm was brilliant for Magaz who doesn't need a Wasteland Ring.
