running windows 8.1. can not get out of gibus with esc key. Have to shut game down with windows key, then restart . esc functions correctly the rest of the time.

Errr really? That seems a very unusual and tedious problem... but what leaves me wondering is that it's working "everywhere else"...

update? If I make a selection ,such as options ,in gibus; then press the esc key, it works as it should!

When you select the Gibus, the first 3 or 4 text boxes have a little arrow at the bottom, which shows you that there is more dialogue in that little bit. Until that bit is finished you can't use 'esc' or any other key. That's just the way the program works. It moves the text on to the next bit. Once you get to the list of things you can choose you will see that the little arrow thing has gone. From then on you should be able to use the esc key. I don't actually have to select anything; once I see the list I can use esc.
