It's a possibility, as I do believe I generally (all the time?) use Press Down instead.

I think I used to, but when games started to add healing on to guarding, I started doing it a lot, so went with the quicker way, (up).

Additionally, you could continue playing using Press Down and see if that glitch vanishes?

Yes, I did. Sorry, that's what I meant.
I did play it with the down key and the glitch did not come up.

I'm not that fussed about it being fixed, but I thought that you'd probably want to understand what was going on. I can live with it.

Tried that and I still could not get the condition.

What happens if you get this and you then use Auto from the left hand command menu, rather than selecting individual actions?

That's a shame, I thought that could be it.

If I get the issue and escape back to select Auto, it works fine.
But then so does selecting Guard and then choosing the target. It's just a problem with the menu.

OK, if you can't re-create it, then let's forget it. It's bizarre, but there are various workarounds and most of the time it's not that big a deal.

I just encountered the same glitch as David with Praedus. Like him I wanted my party to heal up a bit and have everyone guard (I too went to that option by using the up key), and for Praedus the Attack option vanished.
When hitting escape and starting over it works again.

This is so weird, and I am unable to replicate it at the moment.

However, I will continue to dig into this.

But, at least I know it's not just me!

It's not been a hinderance at all, so no problem. But it's now clear that it's not your computer that causes this glitch.
