Does this actually work with ANY foe? I've tried it so many times now on so many enemies, but never learned a single spell ...

See, one must only complain, then it works!

It's a binary spell. If it works, it works from the 1st try. If it doesn't, it never will.

It will always work and will take all skills that the particular enemy has

BUT only a few enemies have a skill that you can learn. If you don't get something first time with an enemy, don't bother to try again. He can, however, always learn at least one skill in every dungeon, sometimes two.

As you have been through the game once

IMO the best skill he can learn is on the islands of that lake...

The I must have always missed tryin on the enemy that gives that spell, lol.

I used it a lot on those nasties on the islands. Defeat them with their own spell, ha!

Oh well, there are so many skills anyway, and they all need leveled up. So I'll do fine with what I have.
