Dark Knight + Pyro Witch + Holy Priestess + Rogue.
4 hours into the game, Maniac mode.

Very enjoyable so far, equipment makes a huge difference.
I like the way dungeones work (reset upon leaving). The difficulty is quite manageable.

Interesting team. How far are you, and who would you say is the best fighter, rogue or dark knight? :)

Currently doing St Mountain dungeon.
Rogue and Dark Knight has been quite even so far, mostly due to the "first-strike" bow equipped on my knight. Otherwise he is slow sometimes. The dark spells are useful, though.

Actually, my most powerful "warrior" is currently the Witch - equipped with Ruby Rod and Attack Ring... 8)

Holy Priestess useful too?

Actually, I've not needed a healing during a fight so far.
Not a single time. So I guess the Priestess wasn't particularly good choice.
For my next playthrough I'll probably pick up the Minister instead.

You never need to heal in Maniac Mode? Have you grinded a bit at least?

Really, healing is not necessary. THe important part is being a bit ahead when it comes to equipment. To grind a bit and buy good weapons. Then it's much easier.
This would obviously not work in the Attack mode.

The only thing healing does for me is saving money. But if I understand it right, with the Minister you can earn more. So this is no advantage.

Saving money is always good.
If the Minister does get you extra money, saving will give you even more (double effect).

Yes, money is probably the most important thing in TKH, because shops offer pretty good equipment. And with it, the party is so much stronger.
It's basically a "snowball effect" - faster fights, less damage to the party, less healing needed = more money earned = even better equipment.

Normal, yes.
So far, so good. The paladin is a snail, lol. But he hits hard, and the monk and rogue are great. And by and by they start getting nice spells.

I've just tried using Jeff and found he's not a bad fighter. After leveling up the party to level 6 (prior to first dungeon) I had over 900 gold. Still fiddling around with the party I want to keep. I like the Paladin because he can heal. I like the Monk because he can cure nastiness like poison or disease. I like the Priestess (Pentacle) because she has offensive spells in addition to healing and curing.

The king's comments about the archer put me off (can't hit anything) trying to use him.

Right now I've made two saves before picking my party, one in easy and one in normal. That way I can always restart things while I'm trying to find a good team to put together. Chances are all combos are good. I'm tempted to find the weakest ones and see if I can whip them into shape.

But I'm a perfectionist so I doubt I'll ever find my "perfect" party. Gonna have fun trying, though! +::YAY
