I can do that ... and I can get clear around to the back of the building, but then I get kicked out again. Where am I suppose to go? thanks.

Well, even trying your solution of pressing up while pressing left, I get nowhere. Doing that combination I just stand still. I'm irritated by this, and won't bother with it any more.
And yes, I do have the updated version.
