Dungeon Difficulty

I'd be interested to know - what determines whether a dungeon is shown easy, middle or hard (with the symbol in the top left corner). I've just entered the tumulus and my symbol is green, but even the monsters at the start are really hard. I do have quite good equipment (although not the best for all as I never seem to get enough money), yet the monsters are dealing a lot of damage and don't go down easily. They also seem to be quite immune to states.

It's an estimation based on the most significant stats of your party. It's probably not foolproof. The Tumulus has very difficult monsters from the getgo. You might also be just ahead of the bar to be labelled "green".

Yes, I sure had that too before. Some dungeons I just breezed through. Other were harder, but still ok.
I'm just trying out now what works. The rocking horses can be inflicted with "Possessed" which helps tremendously.
I guess the tumulus is still a little easier than the world map surrounding it.
