Leaving train station

Nice game!

When leaving the train station for the swamp, I am unable to access either that string of 3 coins on the left or the thing on the right, even though the map (in the guide) seems to indicate they're accessible. Am I doing something wrong? I can't jump anywhere.

You need to explore the swamp before you can reach them. No jumping is required.
