Sparkles

When I was in the swamp I "talked" to the sparkles and nothing. In the fire cave I get item flash burn. Is this meant to be.

As far as I could work out, the Swamp sparkles were just nice effects on the maps. I never got anything. In the Lava Cave you should be getting Flash Burn as the item. There is another cave later on (Ice Cave) where sparkles also give you a couple of different items. But the Swamp, no, nothing.
