Are you using Kraken's No Country for Bosses? This is excellent against the dragons.
Also try to "pacify" them using Piper's Pacify.
Luke can cast Animus on Kraken, too.

I have windows 10 too.
How old is your pc?
Are you sure the game got downloaded and installed properly? Sometimes a program prevents that from happening.

When I encounter her she tells me she won't fight me (or whatever her message is) and disappears.

Is there something I need to do to trigger the fight?

I had a hard time beating the Oddegg too and after MANY attempts finally figured it out. If you have enough Shattermaces and hellfires, that is what worked for me. Good luck!

Having Piper cast first Pacifier and then Antigone seems to help. If Lexus is equipped with her best gun, she can lower the defense as well as cast significant damage. Luke could cast Animus on Lexus so she can act twice. If his Charge level is 3, he can use that on Lexus as well. Kraken's No Country for Bosses doesn't seem to do a lot of damage, certainly not as much as Lexus does with Piercing Bullet, but it does do some and it also lowers defense. Make sure Luke and Piper heal the party as quickly as possible.

@Indy-If you 'use' the OddEgg, but then answer 'no' to the question of cracking it open, it still gets deleted from your inventory. I would think if you didn't crack it open, you could still keep it?
