Growing Old Disgracefully

Growing Old Disgracefully

Postby titaness » Sat Oct 24, 2009 3:11 pm

I have been motivated by Vani and my friends "down under" to start a
new book while I wait to see if "Senior Moments" will be published.
Here is an excerpt of an actual event that happened. I particularly
like to describe simple experiences in a descriptive manner. This
occured one night when I got "mooned" by some teenagers having fun.
...There, framed by the intense darkness of the night, were no less
than six full moons, shining intently! One could not help but be impressed
by the display. The presentations were varied in size, shape, and hue.
Half of them had two little "mini-moons" hovering on the Southern edge,
but I don't think they tended to revolve in an elliptical orbit. They seemed
"too close in" to remain in the gaseous atmosphere for long. The other
celestial spheres had a more geometrically circular design, but I believe
their orbits were starting to decay as they seemed to "wiggle" back and
forth. By far, however, the middle most orb dominated the solar system,
as it was the "Jupiter" of the bunch. The size and mass were huge. Conversely,
the far right moon resembled "Pluto" in its tiny compactness. Overall, it
was quite an astronomical event!

You know, I guess if you don't speak American English, my writing can be
rather tedious. I write predominantly for Southern readers. I don't know
that others could appreciate the descriptiveness. Jimmy Carter might
be proud though? HEHEHE +::YAY

Since I'm also a southerner, I really enjoyed it! Have you ever seen the book 'How to Speak Southern'?
It's really cute! +::lol

Yep, that was a great book. I loved Jimmy Carter! You know there's a Jimmy
Carter library here in Atlanta, don't you? Ever been there?

Nope, I've only been through Atlanta, never had the chance to stop. I know that flying over it is beautiful! Trees and little lakes, really green. It looks like a pretty place to live. :)

Yep, it's pretty "green" for a big city. I asked somewhere else but it
got lost...do you and sis live together? For some reason I had the
impression you were from Georgia!

Yep and nope! +::lol
Okay, I'll elaborate! Granny C and I do live together, have been together for about 11 years now. We had our mom with us for the last 5 years until she passed away last year. We were the three little old ladies! +::lol

We live about a mile south of a little town in Central Florida west of Orlando. Raised in Miami back in the 50's. We're both native Floridians, but our mom was a Georgia Cracker! +::biggrin
