Collaborations Vs 100% Aldorlea

How did you like collaborations with other devs so far?
They include Ella's Hope, Sylia, and Opaline. Would you prefer me to continue pairing up with another dev or focus more on my own stuff, even if it means less games (collaborations are usually faster to make since I "only" get to do half of the work).

I enjoyed a bit Ella's Hope, but it was a lot of DO THIS or DO THAT, and that killed the main quest for me. Sylia was great for me, and Opaline... while the mapping and the characters weren't the best, I liked the story and the party splitting all the time. For me I prefer when you do collab since the design and characters are all to you. :)

Whether you collaborate or do your own...I thank you! I get to play knowing you've tweaked it somehow and enjoy all those games nonetheless.
Spoiler: show
The collaborated stories are great. But, I'd just like to let you know that your games pack just that extra special something. Can't put my finger on it, but your storytelling comes out in spades! KUDOS Indy!

I thought that TBOL was a collaboration, too. And it was an amazing game.
But I still prefer 100% Aldorlea - I would say "better quality than quantity". :)

A collaboration there and there is good for variability, though.

It wasn't a collaboration. And I agree with you, an amazing game.

I think collaborations can work, it depends how closely the styles of Indy and the collaborator 'mesh'. The closer they are, the more the finished game has that Aldorlea feel to it.

TBOL was made together with Enso, wasn't it?

Considering that there are games like Legend and especially LS that I'm eagerly waiting for, I'd rather have them earlier than get some collabs in between.
I prefer full Aldorlea spirit over a larger amount of games.

Only the basics of the maps. I did all the rest :)
And more importantly the dialogs and story.
Granted, Sylia's story was mostly mine too.

But Opaline's story wasn't yours, right? And I guess that's why I never played it.
I can't spend a lot of money on games at the moment, and I'd rater save it for 100% Aldorlea games.

I did play Ella's Hope, but I can't remember it very well.
I think it was a cute game.

I have to admit that while I loved Sylia, I never finished Opaline. Totally lost interest, so not your story style. I am totally a fan of your games. I have played the demo for Onyx and I am considering buying it but really not sure. +::Dunno

I would appreciate the support, since I put a lot of time in it, but I also prefer to be honest: Onyx, like Opaline, doesn't have my story. Ella's Hope didn't have either.
Sylia had (and of course so did TBOL). ;)
But maybe you will still like Onyx, for the challenge, or the length, or whatever - could also be for the story even if I did not write it. It's less "cute" than Opaline, for sure.
