If doing S is based on enough money to make it worthwhile for the time and effort involved, have you ever thought of the Kickstater/Indiegogo route.
I don't like crowdfunding. It's very random. And honestly I think it's a bit of a crook's business, so many people are doing Kickstarter just to get easy free money.
You could title is Laxius S and have like 25-30 for the first game and 75 tier that guarantees the trilogy to people as it comes out. You can also maybe have goodies like hand drawn art or something else for higher tiers. If you had the funding up front than maybe it would be easier to devote more time to it or pay for assets instead of putting money out for them and hoping to get it back through sales. You will have the sales up front.
Well, as I said, it's very random. Plus, I don't think Laxius is still popular enough to pull it off.
I've never used Kickstarter for any of my games. The reason I'm not making LS as a top priority game is because some other games of mine have been more popular. Laxius is a labor of love, for me it's not very rewarding to make it, except for the satisfaction of the creation itself. I told you already, it's much harder to make than any of my other games.
