how to be prepared for the uzair crypt :
know thy party's strengths. There are a lot of "undeads" in this crypt, so try to remember who does [can do] or doesn't do [can't do] what.
remember : Sarah has "Holy Words," which usually completely kills an enemy. Random can kill zombies without any sort of power-up, but can't do anything to the spirits. Guanidia's "Kamikazi" power up is genius. if you have it, use Guanidia's "Phylagtose" [Phylactose?] spell if you have it. It works on Ozair beautifully. You have to have Baretta as a member. Unfortunately, her weapon [Baobob[relic]] DOES NOT pack very much punch. BUT it has the capability to status enemy venom, and once you've used her for a while that's pretty constant. Give Sarah a "Xen Bow" which should be capable before you go into the Marsh. It's a beautiful weapon... it really, really is. When But those Spirits.... the safe bets are Guanidia's Kamikazi, and Sarah's Holy Words. Try to pack a lot of Holy Mirrors before hand. Also wanted but perhaps not forseen : LOTS OF MP POTIONS. Kamikazi and Holy Words [as well as Barretta's GO GO GO! which is actually quite useful and Random's Crossstrike works well on zombies] take MP. While Kamikazi costs 3mp and Holy Words costs 4mp, you're in that crypt for a looong time.
Remember that Random can cure HP [for the sound price of 50mp], but don't let youself count on that and get HP FOOD and POTIONS. As for special item weapons. look for things that effect ALL of the enemy party.
Uzair himself can call snakes [Sarah's Chrysalis Twist] and spirits [Holy Mirrors, Holy Words, Kamikazi] and is pretty tough to beat. Thankfully, Random can attack him, but Baretta's Venom doesn't catch on him very well. Let Random and Barretta melee-attack while Sarah and Guanidia take out the "extra" monsters. I believe the element that's dangerous on Uzair is AIR, and Sarah has [of course] a pretty powerful airspell.
After defeating Uzair, don't think you're done. HP and MP full, THEN set out to get out of the temple. As you'll know from your journey in, save bunnies are few and far between, although it seems like they're even rarer on the way out. My advice would be to HP FULL as often as you can till you're safely OUT OF UZAIR.
