Question about timing re: Kevin the explorer

I came out of the Witch Woods and decided to walk through town, and found that Kevin wanted to take me around, but I decided not to do that then (I wanted to finish the Witch Woods 1st) and would come back to it. Well, after the woods you get whisked away and have to do the sewers.

My question is: will I be able to get back to Kevin, or did I lose out on that b/c I am now in the sewers and will have to get to the Final Eye etc? Thanks!
