How to use Baretta's "Craft" skill?

Baretta's in my party now, and I've tried to use her "Craft" skill to improve artifacts, but I'm not sure what the procedure is...I've unequiped all our artifacts, but what should i do next? I'm obviously missing a step here...

Hi, Baretta will only craft artifact weapons.
You seem to be doing the right procedure, just make sure you've got any artifact weapon at all.

Oh WEAPONS! Okay! I thought I'd try it on the Seed Pendant artifact, and now I understand. Thanks Indinera!
