The Sheer Genius of the Save Bunny

The Sheer Genius of the Save Bunny

+::biggrin

Every time a friend calls or my hubby asks for help with some chore, I end up uttering the same phrase: "Hold on. I have to find a Save Bunny." +::biggrin +::lol

I have to say that never gets old. Who can get mad at you after you say something like that? Even my most impatient friends have to stop and laugh.

At first I was annoyed at having to get to a save point before I could exit the game, but now I think it worked out great for this particular game. Kudos! Kudos on the Save Bunny concept!

+::YAY
I made this. v

Initially I found the idea of save points really annoying... I like to save wherever and whenever I like. But the bunnies made it very original after all. :)

Anyone who plays old-school or even some current-day Japanese console RPGs still have to contend with save points. Even the most recent Final Fantasy game, FF12, still uses save points. I think early RPG for the PC (usu. non-Japanese) used random battles and save points before memory technology caught up, but Japanese RPGs still often use save points and random battles.

I personally like the convenience of a quicksave feature, but save points are usually an indicator that I'm about to head into a boss battle.

I do think RPGs on handhelds like the DS or PSP should always have anywhere saving since those are played on the go and when I'm called in from the waiting room, I like to be able to save right away.

I like when save points are cute mascot creatures, like the moogles in FF9 or the bunnies in 3 Stars. Come to think of it, the RPG I took my namesake and avatar from, Anachronox, uses fluffy creatures called Time Minders as save points. Definitely adds more personality than arbitrary object save points.

The Lack of Bunnies when you want em kinda gets frustrating.I think this is a let down on the game.Maybe more save points would be better.

I don't think like that, I think the lack of bunnies let the game harder, and when the game is hard the game is more fun to play +::biggrin
