Even with the Torrent Blade you have to level up to kill them though. But eventually you'll do it!!!!!
And if you're diligent enough you can also go back to the Lizardmen Counter and kill that monster in the hole. It's hard but doable.

Which doesn't mean it's the only strategy that works.

I have already killed the monster in the hole - no problem - but I still cannot get through the vampires - Do I Really need the stuff in the chests to be able to carry on with the game?+:: +::cry

Seed Pendant is very useful for leveling and you will only get a chance to buy another one much much later in the game (or maybe it is even in LF2, actually). The other things could probably be missed, though (but you find quite a lot of money there and money are hard to earn in such an amount until Chapter 3).

Is there a Seed Pendant? I don't remember exactly but I don't think so.
You get the Seed Pendants in Mt. Zulle later after finishing quests for the guild there.
But in the chests there is the Luck Ring which is a very useful item. You can do without but you'll miss stuff.

I can confirm that there is a Seed Pendant in one of the chests - I played this part of LF quite recently and it was there. Also, taken from the walkthrough: In the green chest are a seed pendant, Morning dew, and an Occixion.

As for the Luck Ring, it's in the previous screen with Mist Wraith, Vampire and two chests and getting it isn't extremely hard - it's possible to avoid all the monsters including the Wraith - the trick is in getting the ring and then entering the next screen and getting back (before the monsters get to you) again. This way you reset the monsters positions, can save into another slot and have easy way how to try to run. I did it this way many times.

Okay, couldn't remember the Seed Pendant there.
Anyway, the Luck Ring is much more important. Seed Pendants can be bought later in Mt. Zulle.

Good job, briony. +::clap +::Thumbup
Yes, it's hard to do the ruins, but imo it's worth the feeling...

As far as I know, being high level enough and Torrent blade for Random is the only option - it's probably doable with 30+, but 35+ is safe bet. And having Cocka-Cocka as an adult Cockatrix is important, too - he can do/stand quite some damage.
