Possible Reeker Bulb Bug

I went to the dreaded and buried Sonia long before I got the reeker bulb. I now have the bulb and am being continuously poisoned. The walkthrough says to go to the dreaded and jump back across the chasm and quickly push up but Random won't jump across the chasm again so I can't make him fall down.

What do I do?

Can I drop the reeker bulb and pick it up later? Is there another way to get the ring?

You can only fall to the chasm when jumping over for the first time. Now you cannot get the ring anymore, so I would either suggest retreating back to an older save (if you have any) or get rid of the Reeker Bulb. You can't get it again, so you'll miss the quest in Chapter 3, but continuing playing without Purity Ring would be just too difficult.

You can't drop an item, but it's possible to sell it.
