So, I know this game is a bit old, but I contacted the developer here, and they told me to post on this forum for help, because it's a really weird one.

So, after the point in the game where you go into the coves, taking off your armor to do so, and then get tons of gold bars, which you can only take out 2 at a time, and the Mermaid area, I noticed that from that point on, I could not wear armor or shields, because they would immediately deequip as soon as I left the menu screen.

I have no idea how this happened, or if it has something to do with easy mode?
But I would like to know if there's anything I can do, because at worst, I need to start a new game. THankfully I know how to get to where I was within 3 hours.

And this time I would avoid the Mermaid area.

I just don't know enough about RPG maker games to even figure out what went wrong.
My only guess is a flag that is designed ot make you uneqiup your gear upon entering the caves got broken.

I mean, that's all I can think of. Maybe it got mad at me?

Edit: I fixed it, weird glitch with htat one cave.

I have never experienced that bug before as far as I can recall.

It has been forever since I played that part of the game, but wasn’t being unable to equip stuff while in the mermaid area a debuff? The effect would then go away once you leave the mermaid area and perhaps the beach area as well. If the effect persists after exiting the area entirely, that would be a bug. You might try re-entering the mermaid area and then exiting again to see if that resolves the issue.

Or, I might be remembering the whole thing wrong.

Are you still at the mermaid place? Cuz then it's meant to be that way.
Once you left that place and go back to ... Khomre? (I think that was the name of the village) you should be able to fully equip your characters again.
I've also never had problems with this and I don't recall anyone saying they did.
Did you get the game from here or from elsewhere?

Sorry for the long delay, real life has been very distracting.

I'm in the city caves under Khomre and I still can't equip any armor or shield, they automatically unequip as soon as I leave the inventory screen.

I looked all over for this bug when it happened to me, and I couldn't find anything about it either.

I will go back to the mermaid cave and leave and see if that finally fixes it.

Other than that, I have no idea what could be the problem.
I just hope there's an easy way to fix this without just having to avoid the area.

So, I fixed it!
I walked back into the cave system that made you unequip your armor and stuff, and then back out, and now my armor and stuff works properly again!

It was that cave's fault.

A jinxed cave! You better stay out of there, who knows what it'll do to you next time!

So, I'm exploring a bunch into the game, and enjoying it a lot.
A little confusing at times, so I decided to enjoy the free Guide.

And can you get the Choka choka or whatever in Chapter 2?
