It has to be something in the configuration of your computer.
But unfortunately (or fortunately), I don't get glitch reports like this very often, so it's hard for me to suggest something more than what I've already suggested. +::surrender

With help from an old thread I found the solution! For some reason there was a game controller device in the device manager, disabling it fixed my movement issues. I think you may want to put the answer in the FAQ or something since I'm sure I won't be the last person to have an issue like this.

Here is the old thread I used: viewtopic.php?f=99&t=4459&start=15

Just downloaded Millennium 1 , running WIN7, a silly bug appeared:

Script 'Main' line 97: Errno::EINVAL occurred.

Invalid argument -

c:\users\中文\Appdata\Roaming\Millennium_Saves

Just because I use Chinese character as my username, I can't play the game. I can open another account using English ID to avoid this bug, but there should be a solution. Just if I can custom the savepath...

Anyway can you tweak the program, make it compatible with Chinese (or other codes using H127-H255 in ASCII) pathname?

The easiest way I think is make it possible to custom savepath. Problem will be solved if I can simply put savefiles in other directory.

I'm not sure about this, I guess I would have to ask Zeriab...

That is strange as internally we are using the short 8.3 pathname. This means that the path the game considers could look like this:
C:\Users\1D6F~1\AppData\Roaming\MILLEN~1

I don't know why this conversion fails, but luckily there is a feature in the program you can use where puts save games in a subfolder to the game directory:
  1. Make a backup of Millennium.ini (just in case)
  2. Open Millennium.ini
  3. Add a new line at the bottom: local_saves=1

Note that you may get a permission denied error. If this happens then it's because the game needs Administrative permissions to change/create files under the Program Files directory (I.e. run as administrator).
I suggest that you copy the whole game to another place where you don't need to run the game as administrator.

Let me know if you can get it to work.

Go in the Options Menu and pick the other choice for the music. With my games now having an options menu, I don't recommend touching F1.
