True for Jeanne. Karine, I thought, was everywhere. Merline comes from Merlin which is english.

Karine may be the french version of this otherwise widely popular name indeed. As for Merline, I don't think it ever was connected to Merlin (until now lol)
But well I can confirm it's not really french either. It's mystian (and mystic xD)
