I've beaten all the gaes in the cave but the last two at the cave entrance are repeatedly killing me off in one or two turns. Characters are all level 45 or higher. I've read other posts about tactics and the walkthrough, but no help for me. Maybe I need different weapons or something? Any other tips?

As a general rule, gaes are very susceptible to paralyzing/thumber numb. If you have Random in the party, try his Thunder Implosion skill. Equip other characters with weapons that paralyze. Luci has a paralysis spell and her St. Christopher spell does quite a bit of damage. If you can either paralyze or thunder numb the gaes and Wendela can inflict plague, you've got a really good chance of succeeding.
