Welcome aboard! Which game(s) are you going to play first?

Hello everyone !!

Managed to get registered. Thank you, Indinera.

I am Vald, also known as Valdy on BF. I have been lurking here for a long time, bought games from Aldorlea, and read many of the game threads. At long last, I decided to register - just in case I want to add something of value (or not) from time to time. ;)

I have started playing RPGs 20+ years ago, gone from the SNES and Mega Drive to playing computer games. Over the last few years HOGs (hidden object games) were my passion, but I have been bored with them for a while now, and concentrate more on these old-type RPGs, which are far more value for money to begin with.

When it comes to RPGs, I am not big on fighting. I prefer to play the games in Easy mode or, even better, in Story mode, if there is one (as is the case with 2 of Eridani's games, and Asguaard, which is one of my favourite games. It has everything I could possibly want in an RPG. And I love the fact that I can get "footsteps" to show me the way back to where I should continue from when I am wandering around large caves and such. Really like that addition. Makes it far less frustrating for me.

That's about it. :)

Feel free to do so :)

Megadrive used to be my favorite - any memories of Phantasy Star and Shining Force? +::wizard

Yup, definitely xD

I can recommend Elendia Ceus and The Tale of a Common Man, seeing what you like in games.
I think Millennium also has Story Mode. +::Thumbup

Thank you both for the welcome. :)

Sorry, Indi, never heard of either title for the Mega Drive. Some of my favourite games were Dungeon Master, Shadowrun, and Alex Kidd. I also loved playing SNES games like FF and Zelda.

I own the first 2 Millennium games, but there is no Story mode, but a "Very Easy" mode which, I suppose, is the same. What I found tiresome was that I got constantly ambushed by invisible enemies when I was on the world map. The one place where I like to be able to walk around without getting into fights, especially with invisible enemies, is the world map.

I also own Moonchild, but am not sure I want to buy Elendia Ceus. The game just didn't excite me all that much. Sorry...

Why not? Any reason?
It's been very well received so far. :)

Also Millennium 3 is IMO the best of the series. +::biggrin

You are a tough salesman, Indi. LOL I will have to give M1 and M2 another go before I will decide whether to get M3. Usually, Story mode is for those gamers who don't want to have to fight a lot, but even in "very easy" mode, I hardly managed to walk around a few steps before I encountered another enemy.

I am not sure what exactly it is with Elendia Ceus that makes me hesitate to get the game. On the whole I liked what I have played so far, but when the demo finished, I didn't feel the urge to continue to find out what happens next. It's like with HOGs: just because I am a HOG fan, doesn't mean I get excited about every HOG that comes out. Some are just more to my liking than others.

But are you playing with visible or invisible encounters?

OK. I hope I didn't mess up with the demo lol

On the world map there are invisible monsters, no matter the choice.
Vald, you can escape the fights though. You don't have go through them if you don't want to.

You don't spend a lot of time on the worldmap, 80% of the game, if not more, is spent in the "dungeons".
Also, when picking "invisible encounters", it's possible to set it to the lowest in some areas.
