I managed to kill her in level 35, it was an miracle

Mega-Boost and Omega with Jeanne, with Marine, use Double-Slap with the Shiva promotion to anger her, use Marine Solar Bomb too, Benoit Slash Hand, Abu nothing and Jezabel nothing, at least it was what I do.
Don't forget to let her inflict pox on you for the ill girl quest.

nope you can't change modes in the middle of the game

If you have killed Gigantine you definitely should have enough of the Red Orbs. Go back to the Guild of Magic in Mystrock Territory and get a quest complete and get the Charm quest from the same person.

Then press S on your keyboard and compare to the list at this link

You may have accidentally traded them in for increased status effect for your
party. There's a person you talk to in every guild who does that for a price,
but then the orbs are gone!!
