I'm missing SOMETHING that opens the other regions of CC -- for example, on the screens i go to, there is no Pom Pom ... I've been to the screen with the locked house and up to the Cave and talked with the girl there and explored the area...have killed Giganta (did not get pox, so that quest is lost)...anyway, what am I missing?

On one of the screens down in the right hand corner, you can jump down and that way you can continue to explore.
