Help! I have Norton antivirus, and it won't let me install Dreamscape. It says that there is a high level of threat detected - less than 100 Norton users have downloaded this program, yadda yadda. Does anyone know how I can get by Norton? Thanks.

It is a false positive.
Is it the big 85Mb file that causes this alert?

I don't know. How would I know that? We used to have Mcafee, and I could say "yes" or "no" if I wanted to download something. Now it seems l'm not being given the option. Grrrr!!!!!

I have contacted Norton.

My question about was: when does it happen?
When you click on the package (installer) Dreamscape.exe?

I'll try again and let you know exactly what happens. It's at the end, after it gets past 99%, when you think you're going to install the game - but that screen never comes up. It's like it downloads the game, but you don't get to the installation phase.

edit: Ok, this is what happens. After the download, I get this message: Windows cannot access specified device, path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item.

Then, in the right hand corner, there is a red box from Norton, that says, "Threat found: Dreamscape[1].exe"

If I click on Norton to check out why, this is what it says:
Dreamscape[1].exe (reser. reputation.1)
This insight network detection has been removed
"few users, risk medium"

But under the scanned program, it says it's "safe".

Norton should remove the false positive now I've contacted them.

It's not done yet, we have to be a bit patient. ^^

I cannot do anything since the problem is with their software.
