Hi,

I've just restarted playing LFII using Patajonas' save-files. But I seem to have a problem. Whenever I open my items-list, or I visit a shop, I get this error-msg saying 'LFII script is hanging' and I can't seem to get it fixed.
I'm using Windows Vista.

Wish I could help, but at least you know you're not being ignored! Maybe one of our 'puter guru's will pass by and help... or maybe Indy.

In the meantime, things you might try: Restart your computer, Redownload from the newest link and uninstall and reinstall (nope, you won't lose your save files). One or the other of those two things have always worked for me when a game started hanging up. Then you might try selling useless items so that your item list isn't quite sooooo long. (like old armor and such.) Some have said that they did and it worked.

Pato's save file has tons of items. He saved everything he ever picked up, and bought extras whenever possible. The sheer number of items he has can cause the game to lag though, depending on how fast your computer is.

Like SurferGranny said, if you can get a shop menu to pull up, try selling a whole bunch of the older items to help weed out your item list. Beyond that, free up any computer memory you can. Close any applications running on your tray; turn off your virus scanner. Close or shut down everything that isn't LF2 essentially. One other thing you might give a try is disabling mouse control if you have it on. (Open the .ini file in your game install directory in a simple text editor like notepad, and change the line to read: Mouse=0 ) That may help free up enough game resources to make it to a shop menu at any rate.

If that doesn't work, you might look into getting a save file with less items. Someone on this forum might be able to make a recommendation, I don't know much about the other save files out there beyond Pato's personally. Pato's are pretty much the best, but you need a fairly solid computer rig to have the horsepower to actually use them.

Don't know it is helps, but there was similar problem for LF3 (see http://www.aldorlea.org/officialsite/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=132&t=5432&p=162789&hilit=script+hanging#p162789) and Zeriab posted a script which solved it, so maybe it will work for LF2, too. (Haven't tried, so I'm not really sure)

Viewing them does become a bit slower so don't apply it if your computer is fast enough ^^

Thanks all for the quick responses

But it doesn't seem to work I reinstalled LFII, I removed all my pending programs, I downloaded Zeriab's file, but all to no avail.

Problem is, my last LFI save-file is somewhere in chapter 4 and I don't want to replay the rest of the chapter atm. So I'm hoping somebody can give me a link to a good save at the end of LFI (and not Pato's )

Maybe somebody can open pato's savefile just after chapter 5, remove all the unnecessary items and send me the savefile afterwards?

Sorry for the nagging, but I'm getting a bit desperate. Atm, I'm replaying chapter 4...
