Because Marine is a very strong and determined person and Lord Dragon seems to like this (considering that he's looking for the fight and doesn't want to have any unfair advantage against the other team). Also, from other males present in MM so far, there doesn't seem to be anyone else suitable for Marine (Benoit is just too young imo).

And, as for Marine, she doesn't know Lord Dragon yet and I bet she will be very surprised once she meets him.

But we don't know yet if Lord Dragon will truly be her enemy - I mean there's a difference between an opponent and enemy.
